Tire pressure control retrofit kit

for vehicles without active tire pressure monitoring system TPMS with a recommended tire pressure of the car manufacturer up to approx. 2.5 BAR



The set consists of:
  • 1 operating and display unit
  • 4 tire pressure sensors with metal valve
  • 1 USB charging cable
  • 1 adhesive pad for fastening
  • 1 instruction manual

The system can also be installed in a passive system, so that in addition to the tire pressure loss warning, a real tire pressure control can be achieved. This means that you always have the pressure and temperature of your tires in view and can therefore detect irregularities and problems long before a warning appears and rectify them in good time before major and more expensive damage occurs.

The control unit can either be charged using the included USB charging cable or charged and supplied with power using the solar panel built into the top. In normal operation, the solar panel is sufficient. The device switches off within a few minutes after the vehicle is parked, so that the energy consumption is optimal. When the vehicle is started, the device is automatically switched on by a motion sensor system so that it cannot be forgotten. The switch-on function can be deactivated and reactivated if necessary.

We deliberately only offer a version with internal sensors, because a solution with sensors in the valve caps only works if the valve is permanently actuated and thus only the seal in the cap keeps the pressure in the tire, which in our opinion is a high risk. In addition, the weight of these caps causes to generate a large centrifugal force on the valve at high wheel speeds, which can be harmful in the long run. The slightly higher effort required for the installation of an internal sensor system means a real safety gain. In addition, the sensors are also safe from theft and not exposed to external influences such as road dirt and salt.

Dieses RDKS-System weist einige Schwächen auf. Werden alle 4 Reifen mit einem geeichten Luftdruckprüfer auf einen einheitlichen luftdruck gebracht, der bis auf die zweite Nachkommastelle gleich ist, dann liegen die Werte auf der RDKS-Anzeige dennoch durchaus 0,2 bar auseinander.
Zudem ist die Anzeige so dunkel, dass sie schon bei geringer Sonneneinstrahlung schelcht abzulesen ist. Es bietet sich an, die Anzeige irgendwo dort anzubringen, wo wenig Sonnelicht hinkommt. Dann bringt aber auch wiederum die eingebaute Solarzelle nichts mehr. Zudem reagiert das System so träge, dass man den Luftdruckverlust eher am Fahrverhalten bemerkt, als durch das System.
Zu allem Überfluss funktioniert bei mir einer der vier Sensoren nur sporadisch und fällt bei fast jeder Fahrt irgendwann aus.
Das angebotene RDKS-System eignet sich also bestenfalls als grobes Schätzeisen, denn als praxistaugliche Reifendruckanzeige.
Das einzig Schöne dabei ist, dass die Reifenventile doch ein recht ansehnliches Dssign haben und auf den Felgen ganz gut aussehen.

    Brauchbar

    Nachdem ja das mit der Überwachung mit ABS nicht 100% gut ist, habe ich unser Familienflitzerchen mit diesem Set ausgerüstet. Der Reifenmonteur hat es in 30 Minuten eingebaut und es funktioniert tadellos. Bisher war ich in der Familie der einzige, der sich für den Reifendruck interessiert hat und ab und zu korrigiert hat. Jetzt machen es auch meine Frau, meine Tochter und meine beiden Söhne. Das war der Plan und er ist aufgegangen
